Customer Injured By Falling Merchandise (Personal Injury/Product Liability)

            A customer who had recently had back surgery suffered personal injury and required a second back surgery when she was struck by falling merchandise at the store of a major retailer.  The retailer offered nothing to settle the case prior to the trial.  The jury returned a substantial verdict in favor of the customer, and also awarded punitive damages against the retailer.  (back)
